Grandpa has lived long enough to know that children do not always need another answer. Sometimes they need someone willing to listen long enough for them to find their own.

Sometimes Grandpa asks a question. Sometimes he tells a story. Sometimes he points something out. Sometimes he simply listens.
He is not trying to make Kellan think exactly like Grandpa. He is helping Kellan get better at noticing, thinking, choosing, and understanding.
And he has one other advantage.
Grandpa has time. Time for the second question. Time for the walk. Time for Kellan to answer slowly.
